A man is dead, and five friends in hospital, after their vehicle overturned between Stratford and Bidford in the early hours of Sunday morning.

There were six people in the Land Rover Discovery four-by-four - it was the only vehicle involved in the accident that took place near the Bidford Grange Hotel at 1.30am.

Everyone in the vehicle was taken to hospital, some to Warwick and some to Redditch. The dead man was a passenger.

He has been named as Bruce Simmons, 46, of Bushey, near Watford. His wife Lynne, was injured in the crash. The other occupants were two other couples, also from Hertfordshire.
