Armed
Robbery At Bedworth Bookies
Police are seeking drinkers in a Bedworth pub
who may have seen two men before they robbed a bookmakers shop at
gunpoint.
The pair got away with an unknown amount of
cash from the First UK Racing Shop in Bulkington Road on Saturday
teatime.
Insp Colin Reynolds of Warwickshire police
said:
"The two males entered the premises
and were seen to be playing with the gaming machines.
"One of the offenders then produced a
handgun, described as a revolver and dark in colour, threatening
the cashiers and demanding money.
"An unknown amount of money was put in
a blue and white striped carrier bag, and the men left on foot
towards New Street."
The two men are described as white and aged
18 to 20.
One was said to be of medium build, 5ft 7in,
clean shaven, wearing a dark blue track suit with white stripes
and a dark blue Oasis hat.
The other was of slim to medium build, 5ft
6in, with dark collar-length straight hair and a navy blue fleece
jacket.
Police are particularly interested to hear
from anyone who was in the nearby Travellers Rest pub, where the
two man may have been prior to the robbery which took place at
about 5.35pm.
Anyone with information should call 01926
415000.
