A member of staff at a Coventry nightclub was tied up and threatened with a knife in an armed raid last night.

Three men went into Rainbows, Short Street, about 11.30pm, and bound a 32-year-old man who had a knife held in front of him.

A police spokeswoman said:

"The robbers held the weapon in front of the man and told him to get down. The man was then tied up and the offenders fled with the cash."

Descriptions are vague, but one was said to be between 5ft 9in and 6ft tall, and of ‘broad build’. He was with two other men. The amount of money stolen has not been revealed.
