Four Women In River Anker Crash
Four young women from Nuneaton, involved in the accident where their
car left the road and went into the river Anker in north Warwickshire, have been named.
The car was heading from Wolvey to
Nuneaton on the B4114 when it left the road and went into the water near Bramcote Barracks
on Thursday.
The fire service rescued one of the girls
from the car. Laura Bailey, 16, of Canterbury Way, received serious head injuries and went
to the Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital, before being transferred to Walsgrave Hospital.
The three others in the car were taken to
the George Eliot Hospital.
The driver Gemma Brewster, 18, of Chandos
Street, received cuts and bruises, as did passenger Gemma Harris, 16, of Kingsbridge Road.
Samantha Reid, also 16, of St Nicholas Park Drive, was detained in hospital.
