A workman was the victim of a
hit-and-run on the M40 late last night when he was struck by a van and
received head injuries.
The man was collecting cones on
the northbound carriageway of the M40 about 11.30pm when he was hit by a
white box van.
The other driver fled the scene
and police want help to try and trace him.
A police spokesman said:
“This van failed to stop
despite the man being injured, and evidence that the vehicle itself
was damaged in the collision.”
The victim was named as Steven
Doyle, aged 20, from Southampton. He was taken to Warwick Hospital
suffering from head injuries.
Anyone
with information on the collision, close to the Barn Hill/Warwick
services, should call the Grays Mallory traffic depot on 01926 415000.
