Two men died when they were
electrocuted in an accident in a garden pond in Coventry.
Ray Thomas was wiring the pond
at his home in Henley Road on Saturday at 5.50pm when the accident
happened.
He was carrying out the work in
readiness for a new arrival of goldfish, which were to be a Father’s
Day present.
Something went wrong with the
wiring and Mr Thomas, aged 56, was electrocuted.
He was spotted by his neighbour,
76-year-old Lawrie Day, who went to help him, but touched his friend’s
body and was also electrocuted.
Fire crews and ambulance
paramedics were called to the scene, but were unable to revive the two
men.
An
inquest is expected to be opened later this week.
