Banks Hit In Succession
Police
are investigating the possibility that two raids at Coventry branches
of the HSBC bank yesterday are linked.
In
the first incident, at about 2.25pm, the offender escaped empty-handed
from the Radford Road branch after the cashier refused to hand over
any money.
The
attacker, who demanded cash, was aged between 25 and 35, was about
6ft, medium build, and wore a dark blue baseball cap, a blue t-shirt,
blue jeans and trainers.
Less
than half an hour later the Daventry Road branch in Cheylesmore was
robbed.
The
offender threatened the cashier with a knife and was given an
undisclosed amount of money.
He
is said to be aged between 26 and 30, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 11in
tall. He is of medium build, and has a front tooth missing.
The
offender was wearing a dark blue baseball cap, a blue jumper and
jeans.
Witnesses
to the first incident should call 024 7653 9010, and to the second 024
7653 9040, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
