A Rugby woman was helping police with their enquiries today after a man was found stabbed in a house in the town.

Police were called to the house in Millerdale Close at 6.45am after they received reports that a man had been attacked.

They entered the building and found a 50-year-old man lying at the bottom of the stairs.

He had suffered a head wound and had been stabbed in his left side. The man was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital for treatment.
