A bogus official pretending to
be a council worker burgled a Coventry pensioner’s home and stole more
than £170.
He told the 86-year-old that he
had come to work in his garden at the house near Ansty Road in
Walsgrave.
The burglar used the man’s
outside toilet and said that he had to go home but would return later.
After he left the house the
pensioner realised that £172 had been taken.
The offender is white, aged
about 25, 5ft 11ins, medium build and he had stubble on his face.
He was wearing a dark blue
shirt, a jacket, and dark blue trousers, and spoke with a local accent.
