An intruder dressed in black set upon the occupant of a
Coventry flat when he was disturbed during a burglary.
The man forced his way through the front door of the flat in Stoke Aldermoor between
        7pm and 8pm on Thursday.
While he searched the flat for cash, causing a lot of damage in his wake, he was
interrupted by the 31-year-old occupant returning home.
The householder was hit on the head with a thin metal bar and kicked as he fell to the
        ground.
The attacker, who is about 6ft 4ins tall and stockily built, ran off with a blue Adidas
wallet with yellow stripes containing £60 in cash.
The victim suffered a small gash to the back of his head and reddening to his left
        cheek.
His assailant was dressed in black boots, black jeans, a black long-sleeved sweatshirt
and was wearing a black balaclava and black gloves.
Any witnesses, or anyone who spotted someone matching that description in the area
