Casino Hit
By Armed Raiders Again
Staff
at a Coventry casino were traumatised today after masked raiders
pointed a sawn-off shot gun at them.
A
trio of attackers forced their way into Annabelle’s casino in King
William Street, Hillfields shortly after midnight.
They
pointed a sawn-off shot-gun and two hand guns at the staff and
demanded money.
The
raiders made off with a “substantial” amount of money and escaped
in a car believed to be a dark coloured Subaru Impreza.
The
vehicle was seen heading down Clifton Street towards Harnall Lane
East.
The
attackers were all wearing dark clothing and wore balaclavas or
scarves across their faces.
Police
said today they were investigating the possibility of a link between
the raid and a very similar attack on the casino two years ago.
CCTV
footage of the area has been seized and was today being studied by
detectives.
DI
Dave Mirfield said:
“This
is a particularly nasty crime and the members of staff involved were
absolutely terrified.
“They
are still traumatised after the incident and will be interviewed
throughout today.”
