An eight-year-old boy is in a serious condition in
Leicester Royal Infirmary after being hit by a car in Coventry last night.
Brendan OSullivan, of The Boxhill, Stoke was crossing the road at the junction of
Aldermoor Lane and Armstrong Avenue at around 8.15pm was hit by a car which failed to
stop.
The car, understood to be a while Ford, was travelling along Aldermoor Lane towards
Stoke Green and turned left into Bolingbroke Road.
The boy was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire and then transferred to Walsgrave
Hospital before being moved to Leicester. He is in a serious but stable condition.
A police spokesman said:
"This is a serious incident and we would ask anyone who saw anything or has any
information to contact us on 01203 539040."
A Binley man is also in hospital after his car hit a loose horse at Brandon.
Craig Gardener (22), of Cyrpress Croft, suffered serious spinal injuries when a horse
reared up and landed on the bonnet of his purple Proton car.
The incident happened at 4.30pm on Thursday outside the Hollys Old Peoples Home
on the A428.
