Arson Attack At Coventry
Bank
Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted
burglary and arson attack at a Coventry bank.
Officers believe the raiders forced their way into the Midland Bank on Walsgrave Road,
which had been closed on Friday while contractors carried out refitting work, in the early
hours of this morning.
They could have stayed inside the bank for up to two hours. They forced a workers
tool case and tried to break into a cashpoint machine, but failed.
They then went to the first floor and set fire to some papers causing mess and minor
damage.
Anyone who saw anybody around the bank after 2.45pm on
Sunday when the builders left should call Chace Avenue Police Station on 01203 539040.
