PEUGEOT'S
HARD TOP CONVERTIBLE 206 HAS WON MANY PLAUDITS
The
model, which has a hard top, stunned the motor industry at the
Birmingham International Motor Show, when it was voted car of
the show.
Since
then, more than 1,800 orders for the 2.0 litre, 16-valve engine
car have been received. The main Peugeot 206 is built at
Peugeot's Ryton plant, although this special edition is
manufactured in France.
Steve
Fowler, editor of What Car? said:
“The
Peugeot 206 Coupe Cabriolet gives you the pleasures of
open-top motoring with all the benefits of a hard top in a
matter of seconds.
”With
a strong standard specification for less than £16,000, the
206 CC offers an enticing combination of styling and
engineering.”
Receiving
the award, Peugeot marketing director Rod Philpot said:
“This
is a superb achievement for the 206, which has already become
one of Britain’s most popular cars since its launch two
years ago.”
