Pridmore Road Primary SchoolHISTORY
OF THE SCHOOL
This school started life as Narrow Lane Roman Catholic
School in Narrow Lane, Foleshill in 1921.
Narrow Lane later became Kingfield Road.
In 1931 the school was renamed Pridmore School.
However in 1941 the school was destroyed by German bombers.
It was rebuilt and subsequently enlarged in 1956.
The school was named after leading City Councillor, M K
Pridmore who was in office from 1911/15 onwards [?]. While he was Lord Mayor he gave
in 1914 the badge and chain for the Lady Mayoress.
The Pridmore family had for some time held large properties
in Wyken and in the city centre.
