New Web Advice Service For School-leavers
School leavers are a
click away from having advice just as they are coming to the end of
their exams.
The Prospects web
site was launched this week, and is managed by the Coventry and
Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
It has advice on
options for school leavers, whatever path they choose to tread. The
Prospects motto is ‘Go For It!’ and the site has information on
career choices.
Kay Anderson, youth
development coordinator, who has worked with the CWN team on the site,
said:
“It is a delight
to see that we now have transferred all the information from our
highly successful Prospects fact files to the fast-moving world of
the Internet.
“It is
increasingly important to keep up with technological advances, so to
create a simple way and fun way for teenagers, parents, education
facilitators, training providers and employers to access information
by the clock of a mouse is important if we want to make everyone
aware of the opportunities available.
“The web-site
features a number of sections, packed full of helpful hints and
practical advice and they include Guidance, Yourzone and a Learning
Card, to help explain what options are available for you when you
complete your GCSEs.
“One of the
advantages of having this type of information on-line is that young
people can find out what is available, via training or education -
then those who need to find out, through the Datazone."
