Teletubbies,
produced by Ragdoll Productions, has been nominated in the United States for an Emmy Award
in the 26th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
The nomination, naming the co-creators of the internationally acclaimed series, Anne
Wood and Andrew Davenport, is for an award in the Outstanding Pre School Children's
Series' category of the 1998 - 1999 Daytime Emmy Awards of the (US) National Academy of
Television Arts and Sciences.
Emmy Awards are presented to daytime television programmes broadcast nationally in the
USA between the hours of 2.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. The eligibility period for this year's
Daytime Emmy Awards was 1 January 1998 to 31 December 1998.

The Nickleodeon UK Children's Award at the Seventh Annual Awards for independent
Television Production (The Indies) in March 1999 brought to seven the number of awards won
by Teletubbies.

- Teletubbies has been sold to 59 broadcasters in 44 countries and has been translated
into 21 different languages.
- The most recent sales by BBC Worldwide have been to LTV in Lithuania and to Channel 2M
in Morocco.
- In the Americas, Ragdoll's American agents, The itsy bitsy Entertainment Company, have
sold Teletubbies to terrestrial broadcasters in Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Mexico,
Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela in addition to coverage of the United States and Canada,
and by Discovery Kids Latin America to Spanish and Portuguese speaking areas of Central
and South America.
- In the UK Teletubbies is broadcast six days a week by BBC Television, and Nickleodeon. A
further three year commission for more programmes has recently been announced by the BBC.
- Ragdoll Productions' other programmes for children are its comedy classic Rosie and Jim
which will celebrate its tenth anniversary on ITV next year; Tots TV (shown daily in the
USA and transmitted in the UK on ITV), and two further programmes for the BBC, Brum, and
the international children's programme exchange Open A Door.
- Ragdoll Productions' programmes are seen, or have been seen, in more than 70 countries.
