Attack And Rob Nuneaton Taxi Driver
A taxi driver
needed hospital treatment after he was robbed and assaulted by two
passengers in Bedworth.
He picked the
fare up in Nuneaton and was driving turning from Pine Tree Road
into Furnace Road in Bedworth when he was attacked about 1.45am on
Saturday.
A police
spokeswoman said:
“He pulled
over to let the men out. One of them grabbed him around the
throat.
“The other
got out of the car, went to the driver’s door, opened it and
assaulted the taxi driver, punching him around the face.”
They stole cash
and smashed the car’s CB radio. The driver received cuts and
bruises to his face and had chipped teeth.
The 24-year-old
from Nuneaton was treated and discharged from the George Eliot
Hospital.
The first
attacker was described as: white, aged 20 to 30, short black hair
wearing white or cream jeans and heavily tattooed on his forearms.
His accomplice
was also white, aged 20 to 25, 5ft 7in, with short blond hair, a
light shirt and dark trousers. He had a spotty complexion and
reddening around his mouth.
