Nuneaton Shop Staff Robbed At Gunpoint

Shop staff in Nuneaton were robbed at gunpoint by three men who took cash and cigarettes.

Three men went in to the Spar in Trafford Drive yesterday about 9.05pm and held up the two female cashiers and two shoppers.

A police spokeswoman said:

“Three men entered the shop and all were concealing their faces and one was armed with a handgun.

“They asked one of the two female cashiers working to go into the back of the store and ordered her to open the safe, and a quantity of cash was taken. One took cigarettes and one acted as lookout.”

The women were said to be unhurt but very shaken.

The three made off in a Red Astra car, which may have been found later on. A red Astra car was found abounded and ablaze in Wood End, Coventry, and police are investigating to see if it is the same vehicle.
