A robber held up a building society in Bedworth,
and made off with cash after he threatened a cashier.
The man walked into the Coventry Building Society
in King Street, Bedworth, just after noon on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said:
“He is believed to have had a gun under a
carrier bag and went into the building society and threatened the
20-year-old male cashier, who handed over an undisclosed amount of
cash.”
The armed robber is described as aged 35 to 40,
with a slim build, unshaven with several days’ growth, an oval face
with small eyes and thin lips, and about 5ft 10in tall.
He was wearing a light blue flat cap and a check
blue shirt which was hanging loose over his beige Chino-type type
trousers, with white training shoes and a grey sweatshirt.
Bedworth police are working with West Midlands
officers to see if there are links with similar incidents on their
patch.
